suppressed.  Many people do not want to give up their cars and their addiction to consumerism.  An unhealthy clique develops between Terry and his audience.  By supporting each other they can allow their selfish ways to continue.  But ironically, only by following the truth of global warming can any of these people have a promising future.  This is one small example of the phenomenon of truth-persecution, which is described throughout this web site.  The environmentalists are trying to look after everyone, and in return they do not receive support; strangely they receive persecution.  Like so many caring people - Gandhi, Lennon, Christ, Darwin, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Nelson Mandela - those compassionate people who speak the truth receive persecution.

And now Terry has dug himself in deep, he’s going to look very silly if he says “oh, sorry I got it wrong.”  So he clings to his position ever harder against all rational thought.  His ego becomes all powerful over common sense.  Like President Bush and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair have dug themselves into a position -they won’t admit they were wrong to invade Iraq.  And they’ll all happily persecute any one who says they’re wrong.   They fear change and they all stay weak.

One final thought.  If you were offered a game of Russian roulette, where one chamber in two was loaded and if you survived you would win $1,000,000, would you play?  What if one chamber in 20 was loaded?  One in 1000?  There is a line beyond which we may be prepared to gamble, even when the stakes are high.  Consider global warming like Russian roulette.  The future of planet earth is at stake.  At present we don’t know the odds. But if so much is at stake, and you don’t know the
