Imagine a newspaper called The Truth. Who is going to buy it? Not many people. Eventually somewhere in it’s pages the reader will be confronted by an uncomfortable truth that actually we’re all a little bit bad, and we don’t give as much as we ought to. Far easier to buy a different paper, and carry on with the more acceptable delusion, that we’re all fine. We actually want to live with a degree of non-reality, it’s easier on our conscience to run away from the truth. Such a paper would probably go out of business the day after it is set up, that’s if it was not fire bombed before it started its first print run.
Same reason that they nailed some bloke to a cross for saying what a good idea it would be to be nice to each other. Truth is persecuted. And now publishing these truths may lead to persecution here. That would be ironic.
We all are manipulated to a greater or lesser degree by the people around us. And the media. People who deliberately distort our perception of reality in order that they can take from us. We all have the right to know the truth. Admitting that we have been manipulated is a painful
