carthorse won’t do much good on a race-course, and a race-horse can’t pull a cart. Use each as they are supposed to be used, avoid struggle, and prevail.
You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Use things as they are meant to be, instead of creating a problem by trying to go against the natural order of things. A sow’s ear would be much better used in a soup, or better still by a sow. For listening.
You can’t put a square peg in a round hole. By being egotistical and trying to force something into a place where it is quite obviously not meant to go, we are creating a problem.
