who also love animals.  But they get ignored.  The person is falling into the trap of wrongly perceiving the world in which they live.  The neurons begin to form pathways which very soon only see the coincidences.  The person becomes more and more switched on to the coincidences and as they do so, it appears that there is more and more evidence - they tune in to the star patterns in a non-objective fashion.  People trust the astrologers too.  It doesn’t seem nice, or rational to con somebody does it?  So why would they lie?  Our natural trusting nature allows us to get duped.  Just as the astrologers themselves became deluded when they first heard about astrology.  Looked at in clear, objective fashion, astrology can be seen as a mass delusion.  It is therefore a mental illness.

When people have become deluded through astrology, they are less able to navigate the reality of their lives.  For example, on meeting a potential partner, a follower of astrology may deem the match to be unsatisfactory because of a clash in star signs, when in reality there was probably no evidence that the two people clashed.  Those people could quite probably have gone on to have a full and rewarding relationship.  Astrology does not help us; the truth is that it causes suffering.

People feel scared and insecure when they don’t have a guide.  Rather than allowing what they see to be their guide, they want to feel safe and so they put their trust in astrology.  It is an illusion used as a spiritual crutch.

The Ethical And Legal Argument
A person deliberately inflicting physical damage on another person would quite rightly be prosecuted and penalised for the offence.  But is mental injury less important than physical injury?  If you ask anybody who has suffered mental illnesses like break-down, or depression, or many others, they will tell you of the great trauma which can be felt.  Astrologers actively damage people’s mental health by creating in others the mental illness delusion.  The rational course of action for society is to ban the publishing of astrology, and prosecute the astrologers who are damaging other people’s minds.  Or at the very least provide astrologers with therapy until they are able to see through it.

Astrologers Persecuting Truth
Throughout this site there are examples of how we reject and persecute people who speak the truth.  Gandhi, Lennon, Christ, Abraham Lincoln, Darwin, Galileo, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King were all people of good conscience who spoke the truth for other people’s benefit.  And they were all persecuted - Gandhi described the persecution process when he said said “first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you,  then you win.”  He was describing his spiritual path of truth when he said “God is truth, and truth is God”.  Followers of astrology are most likely to reject the possibility that they are wrong.  It is more important to most of us to maintain a public image that we are strong and intelligent - so they will hide the truth that they are wrong, against all the rational evidence.   Again, and again, and again....throughout history the persecution of truth
